- Opera: On a normal day it is possible to hear the same scene over and over for three plus hours
Motherhood: On a normal day we listen to "Cows" over and over for hours on end. - Opera: For six to eight weeks I watch the same show or at least parts of the same show everyday, then a new one for six weeks, and so on.
Motherhood: I have seen Lion King virtually everyday for about two months, before that Little Mermaid, next I'm sure Cinderella - Opera: For hours on end some one is singing very loudly in a language that I don't always understand

I started this blog in 2009, after I had been diagnosed with a rare cancer, to keep family and friends informed of my progress. After finishing treatment and being diagnosed cured I didn't know what to do with this space, I did know I wasn't going to just delete it. So follow me now as I find my voice.

How Opera Prepared Me for Motherhood
I have been astonished lately at the correlations between being an Opera Stage Manager and a Mom, so of course I had to share:

I've been called the cast mom more times than I can count; especially in college when I'd make sure everyone got home safely from a cast party.

What about costume changes? Quick changes?:-P Or props tracking (i.e where'd that toy/keys/etc. go?)
